Etymologie (Namenserklärung)
BALDIZZONE & VAN DER WOLF (2003: 208): “The specimens were initially considered to be I. monocentra. The name of the new species conveys the extension of the originally monotypic genus.”
Faunistik
Die Vorkommen in Spanien (Murcia und Almería) wurden - bevor sie als eigene Art erkannt wurden - als Ischnophanes monocentra geführt; jene Art ist aber auf Nordafrika (Algerien, Tunesien) beschränkt.

BALDIZZONE & VAN DER WOLF (2003: 208): “Holotype ♂ (PG Bldz 12816) “Spain, Almería, 6 km SW tabernas, Mini Hollywood, 400 m, 24-25-IX-1994, leg. H. W. van der Wolf”, coll. ZMA.” — Paratypen: 10 ♂♂ und 12 ♀♀, alle aus Spanien, Provinzen Almería und Murcia; coll. Baldizzone, coll. van der Wolf, coll. Vives, coll. ZMK.
