Habitat
ZOLOTUHIN (2017) beschreibt den Lebensraum im Astrachan Distrikt als Auwälder im Wolga-Delta. Im Cis- und Trans-Kaukasus werden felsdurchsetzte Wälder, buschige Hänge und montane offene Wälder in Höhen von 600 bis 1300 m als Lebensraum genannt.

Taxonomie
ZOLOTUHIN (2017: 530) stellt klar, dass es sich bei der u.a. aus Persien beschriebenen Ourapteryx falciformis INOUE, 1993 um ein Synonym von [Ourapteryx persica]? (MÉNÉTRIES, 1832) handelt. Er schreibt aber: "from the type series of falciformis Inoue, 1993, only the holotype and a female paratype fro Nord-Iran, Schahkuh are really persica Ménétries, 1832, whereas all other paratypes belong to the species newly described (see leow)." Zu O. niveiscythes heißt es dann: "most paratypes of the type series of falciformis Inoue, 1993 (Kislovodsk ['Kucuobogccr' by Inoue, 1993], Elisabethpol (= Kirovabad), NW Caucasus: Teberda, Krasnodarskij kraj, Lazerevsk Distr.: Vischnevka) belong to this species. Caucasian populations can be genetically distinct [...] and therefor they are not included in the type series of this species."
Faunistik
ZOLOTUHIN (2017) teilt zum Verbreitungsgebiet mit: "from the South of Astrakhan District through Krasnodar and Pyatigorsk Regions, Abkhasia and Daghestan to Transcaucasus. It is the only species of the genus on Ciscaucasus and Large Caucasus. Status of population of northeastern Turkey needs special investigaton."

Die Erstbeschreibung beruht auf dem Holotypus und 2 Paratypen. ZOLOTUHIN (2017: 531) schreibt:
"Holotype: ♂, Russia, Lower Volga Region, Astrakhan Reserve, Obzhorovo, 2.VI 1970, leg. A. Lvovsky (ZISP).
Paratypes: ♂, Russia, Lower Volga Region, Astrakhan Reserve, Obzhorovo, 30.V 1970, leg. A. Lvovsky (ZISP); ♀, Russia, Lower Volga Region, Astrakhan Reserve, cordon Nr. 3, 1-10.VIII 2004, leg. S. Pugaev (ZISP)."
