Is there any interest for some new photos of Alsophila aescularia?
This specimen was found last summer, at Grenå Waldsee, Denmark, on an Ulmus at eye level.
It was sitting at the underneath of a leaf.
I had luck to see and photograph, how the larva use its´ 3. rudimentary proleg.
It looks like a kind of a vertical pipe, up in the abdomen, and the leg can be pushed out and in, similar to a "periscope"
You can see the hole up in the buttom at the third photo.
