News about to distinguish between Phigalia pilosaria and Apocheima hispidaria

My friend, Line Sabroe had made a way to distinguish between Phigalia pilosaria and Apocheima hispidaria.
Maybe other knew it, but I have never "seen" this before.
You can find something alike by Porter.

* If the warts dorsally, on segm 4-6 (especially 5-6) is substantial bigger than the other dorsal warts => Phigalia pilosaria

* If there´s only substantial bigger warts out, lateral (segm 5) => Apocheima hispidaria.

It doesn´t matter about any colourdifferences - it´s only concerning about the size of the warts.

.
I have checked the "rule" up on all public inspiring confident material (photos) on the net, and it works!
Including Lepiforum, itself:
Go and see :)

Therefore: My larva is an Apocheima hispidaria (no big warts, dorsally)

Best wishes - Kjeld

Is that larva a Phigalia pilosaria, at all? *Foto*
Apocheima hispidaria sieht auch ähnlich aus (keine Bestimmung!), VG, Tina *kein Text*
I think, you´re right, Tina - Thank you very much.
Maybe an additional problem(?): your larva is ready to moult. Best regards, Tina *kein Text*
You see it on the "head" ...? *kein Text*
Yes. The head capsule is somehow "lifted", distinct from the body. *kein Text*
