In the last few days I have caught a Crambid and a Pyralid in my garden which I have had problems identifying. I forwarded both to John Chainey for his opinion.
John identified the Crambid captured on April 01, 2021 as Cornifrons ulceratalis which does not appear on the Cyprus list, but you already have photos of it in Cyprus by Mike Hardman dated November 18, 2012.
The Pyralid caught on March 31, 2021 is more problematic. John feels that on balance it is likely to be Acrobasis obliqua but has reservations. Again, it is not on the Cyprus list but appears to be widespread across the Mediterranean and so would be a good candidate to occur here.
As usual, please feel free to use the photos on your identification pages if you wish to.
