On March 26th I have beaten several caterpillars ex Genista in Winterberg (Germany). Even though the caterpillars show a lot of similarities with Alcis repandata caterpillars there are some obvious differences. They were much smaller (earlier instar) in comparison with the repandata caterpillars which were found at the same locality too. I think this matches with the fact that bastelbergeri flies later. On the other hand the pinuculae are much more obvious/elevated. At the moment I still have some caterpillars and some are just pupated.
